On October 27, 2008, as founder of The Blue Dogs of the Democratic Party, I wrote the Blue Dogs endorsement of Barack Obama, "Blue Dogs Endorse Barack Obama for President." The Blue Dogs gave considerable thought to this endorsement because Hispanics were our largest membership component with Immigration Reform being our highest priority.   To obtain Hispanic support in the 2008 presidential election, Obama promised Immigration Reform in the first year of his presidency but Obama failed to make good on his promise. In the second year of Obama’s term, when Democrats still had a majority in Congress, Obama again failed. Obama then proceeded to deport 1,200,000 undocumented Hispanics and lied he had no alternative but to uphold the law. Then seeing the handwriting on the wall ― Hispanic votes are required to win re-election ― Obama announced only immigrant criminals would be deported but deportations of non-criminal Hispanic immigrants continue. With complete failure to deliver Immigration Reform as promised and over 1,200,000 Hispanics deported leaving behind devastated American families, there is no Mexican American enthusiasm to vote for Barack Hussein Obama in the 2012 presidential election. Without Mexican American votes, Obama will not win re-election.   Obama's lack of leadership and failure to make good on promises to deliver Immigration Reform and deportations exceeding 1,200,000 Hispanics, are the number one issue for America's Hispanics.   There is a long litany of other failures that have caused the demise of the United States of America. Hispanic News, Latino News, New Mexico News, Solidarity USA, and Jon Garrido News have begun to identify these failures to build consensus of all Americans to end the Obama presidency and his White House staff for failing to provide fiduciary leadership for all Americans. Justice Elena Kagan, who served as Solicitor General when the Arizona law was challenged in the lower courts, will abstain from ruling. The loss of Kagan significantly increases the probability of an affirmative vote to uphold Arizona S.B. 1070 making Arizona S.B. 1070 the law of the land. With this forthcoming United States Supreme Court ruling, Immigration Reform becomes crucial to the welfare and future growth of the Hispanic community in America. We all know Obama is a gigantic failure to obtain Immigration Reform. We all know Obama has deported 1,200,000 Hispanics and lied when said he had no choice. If Obama is re-elected, Immigration Reform will never be achieved and another 3,000,000 Hispanics will be deported. If a Democrat other than Obama, or a Republican can achieve Immigration Reform, we will endorse this person for Immigration Reform is our priority ― not party loyalty but not any Immigration Reform is acceptable. Only Immigration Reform that advances and protects the civil rights of all Hispanics living in America bringing an end to all deportations. Jon Garrido Jon@JonGarrido.com Owner and CEO of Solidarity USA   In the 2008 election, we were Democrats.  Today, we are disillusioned with Obama and congressional Democrats not only for the lack of Immigration Reform but also for the attack on Christian values by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus that supported the nomination of a Puerto Rican woman as Ambassador to El Salvador. The woman was serving as provisional ambassador to San Salvador since September 2010 after Obama, looking to bypass Republican opposition to her nomination, made her a recess appointee. Her temporary tenure ran out because Republican lawmakers resisted a determined administration effort to secure Senate confirmation.   Though the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved her nomination on a 10-9 party-line vote two weeks ago, her fate in the full Senate was uncertain until the legislative session came to an end. Conservative anger toward the Puerto Rican woman is based, in part, on an op-ed she wrote June 28 in La Prensa Grafica, a daily newspaper in El Salvador promoting a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender agenda. Republican South Carolina senator Jim DeMint, a chief opponent of the Puerto Rican appointment, claimed the op-ed was an “attempt to impose a pro-gay agenda” on El Salvador. Solidarity USA agreed with Senator DeMint.   57 percent of El Salvador’s population is Roman Catholic, and several Salvadoran family and religious groups wrote to U.S. lawmakers criticizing the appointment for “abusing her diplomatic status, showing a clear disdain concerning our values and cultural identity.” They urged lawmakers to oppose her confirmation and suggested she be removed from the post.   Solidarity USA contacted Senator DeMint recommending the U.S. Senate let the temporary tenure of this nomination run out ending the government career of this Puerto Rican woman advocate for a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender agenda.   It appears the Congressional Hispanic Caucus only promotes Puerto Ricans who are 9% of America's Hispanics but Mexican Americans who are 63% of America's Hispanics are not considered worthy for ambassadorial appointments nor is Immigration Reform a priority for Puerto Ricans who can travel back and forth at will from Puerto Rico to the USA because Puerto Ricans are USA citizens and do not have to comply with draconian immigration requirements as do Mexicans. This is why Puerto Ricans have no empathy for Immigration Reform.   In early 2012, Hispanic News, Latino News, New Mexico News, Solidarity USA, and Jon Garrido News will endorse a presidential candidate to become the standard bearer for Immigration Reform in the first year of his presidency. Democrat, other than Obama, Independent or Republican candidates are being considered for endorsement.
